Career Wellness Series
Engage Your Creative Hero
Career Wellness is not a one-size-fits-all journey. We live in a time that embraces the herd mentality as a way of thinking that trickles into every aspect of our lives, yet I say: listen to the sage within. Begin that journey. When you are out of practice it may seem awkward or even scary, but remember it is the true road for every CREATIVE HERO.
Career Wellness necessitates enrichment in your life through work. Creating a climate for career wellness means including the factors that relate to your choice of profession, job satisfaction, career ambitions, and personal performance.
Creating Career Wellness encompasses a broad range of lifestyle choices and considerations related to your goals and ideals that surround your occupation. It includes other health factors, such as: emotional, physical, intellectual, social, environmental, value and/or spiritual health. These considerations effect how you view your work and if you experience satisfaction in life.
Activate your CREATIVE HERO to align your will on the path to career fulfillment. What does this mean? Your CREATIVE HERO is that part of you that says, “I can do it!” when you doubt your ability or you are not convinced of the results of something. It is the part of you that says, “I care about my creative experience and so I want something new or different”. It helps you protect the values you aspire to and it can comfort you when need it and it asks you to get moving when you need a bit of a jumpstart.
You can begin by asking yourself:
- How do I feel about my career health?
- Do I need to do something different?
- Am I being too passive? Do I need a healthy challenge?
- Do I need to meet new people and expand my experience range?
- Do I need to hear objective, constructive feedback?
Doubt is the mortal enemy of the CREATIVE HERO, notice it is the mortal and not the immortal enemy. Career Wellness requires reflection and self-assessment to better understand "who you are" and "what you believe" in relation to your authentic values, lifestyle preferences and choices.
